Art has always been at the core of who I am. From early drawings to sculpture, writing, and filmmaking, my work explores stories that question, provoke, and search for meaning. After years in Paris ghostwriting screenplays, I moved on to writing my own, as well as three novels—my first, The Madness & Rachel, will soon be published by Pegasus Publishers. Filmmaking was a natural progression, following fifteen years at 20th Century Fox where I contributed to films including Titanic, Star Wars, Fight Club, and Moulin Rouge. Since then, I’ve directed a feature film and recently submitted a short to international competitions.

This website is a space to share my creative journey and connect with others exploring art, writing, and film.

With over 25 years of experience in the international film industry, I have worked across writing, technical supervision, and studio leadership.

I began my career as a freelance ghostwriter, collaborating with various studios and productions before joining 20th Century Fox International, where I served as Technical Supervisor from 1996 to 2010. In this role, I oversaw the final delivery of some of Fox’s most iconic films, managing color grading, sound mixing, dubbing, and approvals across all international versions. My credits include Titanic, Star Wars Episodes I & II, Fight Club, Minority Report, Moulin Rouge, Master & Commander, I, Robot, Walk the Line, Man on Fire, The Day After Tomorrow, Kingdom of Heaven, Die Another Day, among many others.

Following my time at Fox, I founded Shelter Digital, an SFX studio specializing in title design, main and end credits, inserts, and international versioning for major film releases. I later expanded to create Shelter Digital Studios in Rome, a backlot facility producing feature films, music videos, and commercial projects. Notable work includes the feature Killing Angels.

Today, I continue to bring together my experience in filmmaking, writing, and visual storytelling to explore new creative projects that question meaning, narrative, and cinematic form.

After two unforgettable years on Titanic, I finally got my hands on an Oscar. 🏆
Huge thanks to James Cameron and Jon Landau for an amazing journey. I checked the film 196 times for picture and sound across 33 versions… which probably explains why my hair is so thin today! 😅

My older brother, David — better known as Dave Barbarossa — is the legendary drummer behind Adam and the Ants, Bow Wow Wow, Beats International, and many other bands. He’s also a published writer, with his most notable book being Mud Sharks.

I think I was trying to explain a film once, and, as always, David’s response was a rock 'n roll classic: “Yeah.”
